Air-Entrained Concrete

Concrete with an admixture added that produces millions of microscopic air bubbles in the concrete.

The purpose of entrainment is to make the concrete more workable while it is in a plastic state and at the same time increase its durability. This is particularly useful in climates with regular seasonal freeze-thaw cycles.
